Session Costs

For weekly Swimming sessions and Swim Time Trials we charge a session fee of £7(£8 for non-members,which covers one day club membership).

For weekly Running sessions we charge a session fee of £5 (£6 for non members).

These sessions can be paid for by cash or (preferably) by contactless payment.

We also offer a voucher scheme for Running sessions only, whereby a 10 session voucher can be purchased for £50.

Swimming

Monday night coached swimming (adults and youths)

Runnymede Swimming Pool, Thundersley.

  • Monday -  Meet at 8:15pm for a 8:30-9:30 swim.
  • We welcome non-members to try us out for 2 or 3 weeks before deciding whether to join. Please email our club membership secretary beforehand to confirm attendance (membership@east-essex-tri-club.co.uk)
  • We accept all members aged 15 and above

Open Water

  • There are no formal open water swim sessions, however the club members regularly post on Facebook when they are going to swim and you can join with them.
  • We recommend that you never swim on your own or without a land based spotter. Please always wear a bright cap and we recommend use of a tow float, both to make you visible and to hold onto should you get into difficulties (eg. cramp)

Children

  • Unfortunately we are not currently running swim coaching for children; those aged 15 and above are welcome to join the adults Monday evening swim.
  • If enough children show interest in a regular swim training session then speak to one of the club coaches and if the numbers are high enough (and for a time where we can book a pool) we will look at reinstating them.

Cycling

For Adults

Winter Rides

During the winter months, outside of the triathlon season the club runs Sunday morning bike rides. We normally have 3 or 4 groups with a group leader who will set the route and ensure the group are comfortable before setting out. It is important to note that these are not coached sessions and are free of charge. The routes are published by the group leaders a few days before the ride on our club Facebook group.

We do ask everyone who wishes to ride to make themselves aware of our key points for safety and etiquette when group cycling (which can be found here).

Indoor Training

We also have indoor training sessions available. These are done in the comfort of your own home with the Discord service to talk to each other and optionally Zwift. Keep your eye out on the club Facebook page

Indoor Racing

Within Zwift there are plenty of opportunities to race and EETC race as a club with the Tuesday evening Zwift Racing League and on Thursdays (morning and evening) with the WTRL Team Time Trials.

We operate teams of all standards in these races so whatever your level we can find a team for you. If you want to race with the club in Zwift then you will need to do a number of things for setting yourself up (don't be put off, it is a one off activity). You will need to sign up to Zwift, download the Zwift app to your PC or tablet (or Apple TV 4k), download the Zwift Companion nd Discord apps to your mobile, register with Zwift Power and register with WTRL. A complete list of instructions is available (click here). You should also join the club's Zwift racing page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/eastessexteamtimetrial)
