How Much Does It Cost?

  • The tristar entry fee is: £17 with £1 returned at registration on production of a valid Triathlon England race licence.
  • The adult entry fee is: £22 with £3 returned at registration on production of a valid Triathlon England race licence.

  • Adult & Youth:
    • Born between 1st Jan 1919 - 31st Dec 2004
  • Tristar 3:
    • Born between 1st Jan 2005 - 31st Dec 2006
  • Tristar 2:
    • Born between 1st Jan 2007 - 31st Dec 2008
  • Tristar 1:
    • Born between 1st Jan 2009 - 31st Dec 2010
  • Tristar Start:
    • Born between 1st Jan 2011 - 31st Dec 2011

These age categories are in accordance with the rules as laid down by The British Triathlon Federation

This event will be registered and permitted with Triathlon England (Permit applied for).




What are the swim & run distances?


  • Adult & Youth:
    • Swim: 400m - Run: 5000m (5k)
  • Tristar 3:
    • Swim: 300m - Run: 2400m (2.4k)
  • Tristar 2:
    • Swim: 200m - Run: 1800m (1.8k)
  • Tristar 1:
    • Swim: 150m - Run: 1200m (1.2k)
  • Tristar Start:
    • Swim: 50m - Run: 600m



What Time Does it Start?

  • Tristar registration is from 10:30 to 12:00 for a 12:45 race start (race briefing at 12:30).
  • Adult registration is from 13:00 to 14:30 for a 15:15 race start (race briefing at 15:00).
  • If you and your child are both racing then we will endeavour to register you both together.
  • The TriStar event will take place before the Adult & Youth event
  • The TriStars will start in the following order: Tristar 3, Tristar 2, Tristar 1, Tristar Start. This gives the youngest competitors the opportunity to watch the older ones and see how it's done.
  • Race instructions and individual start times will be published in the week before the race.



The Swim

  • The tristar(t) swim will be either 2, 6, 8 or 12 lengths of 25m (depending on age) swum 'Snake' style.
  • The Adult & Youth swim will 16 lengths of 25m also swum 'Snake' style.
  • *Snake style is up and down lane 1, duck under rope, up and down lane 2, duck under rope etc etc



Transition

  • Transition will be directly outside the pool accessed via poolside fire exit - Walk Don't Run!
  • Competitors are politely reminded that it is a direct infringement of British Triathlon competition rules to use any device to mark their position in transition. This includes excessive application of Talcum Powder in and around the competitors transition area. This and any other device or marker will be removed by the duty official where possible. If this is not possible a statutory 2 minute penalty will be applied.



The Run

  • The run section takes place in Gloucester Park, which surrounds the Sporting Village, south of Cranes Farm Road.
  • Tristars will follow a flat, 'out and back' grass course distanced according to age group.
  • Adult & Youth will take a 'new for 2019' 2 lap, 5km route through Gloucester Park.
  • Both courses may include wet and/or muddy sections after prolonged periods of wet weather.
  • All events return to the Sporting Village for a 'Stadium Finish' on the athletics track.



Prize Giving

Trophies are available for all age groups and will be awarded at the end of each event, once the results have been completed and verified.

Please be patient during this time and allow the timing team to complete the task without interuption as this only prolongs the wait.

Trophies will be forwarded on if you are unable to stay for the prize giving.
